Soffit & Fascia
Soffit & fascia
for Edmonton homes.
Pre-finished aluminum soffit and fascia with proper attic ventilation, tight mitred corners, and fastening that actually holds.
The Detail That Keeps Your Roof Healthy
Soffit and fascia are what keep the whole roof system breathing.
Soffit and fascia are the finishing details that close in the eaves of your home and keep your attic properly ventilated. Done right, the eaves look crisp, the attic stays dry, and your shingles last closer to their full warranty. Done wrong (or when old wood fascia rots behind failing aluminum), the whole roof system starts to suffer: ice dams in winter, blistered shingles in summer, and wildlife finding their way in.
Royal Roofing Edmonton installs pre-finished aluminum soffit and fascia on Edmonton homes of every vintage, from 1960s bungalows to brand-new two-storeys. We size the vented soffit panels to provide the right intake airflow for your attic, tightly mitre every inside and outside corner, and wrap sound existing fascia board with pre-finished aluminum so you're never climbing a ladder to paint it again.
When we strip old material off and find rot, animal damage, or an improperly ventilated attic, we show you photos, quote the extra work up front, and fix it properly before closing things back up. No cosmetic cover-ups, no shortcuts. Soffit and fascia pair perfectly with a new roof or eavestrough install, and we're happy to quote them together or separately.
What We Do
Full soffit & fascia service.
Aluminum soffit
Pre-finished aluminum soffit in vented, semi-vented, or solid panels, sized to provide the right intake airflow for your attic.
Aluminum fascia
Pre-finished aluminum fascia formed to wrap existing sound fascia board (or installed over new wood where needed). No painting ever again.
Proper attic ventilation
Soffit intake balanced against ridge/can vent exhaust. Poor ventilation is the single biggest driver of premature shingle failure in Edmonton.
Fascia board repair
Rotten fascia board underneath old aluminum gets replaced before we re-wrap. Cosmetic cover-up is not a repair.
Wildlife remediation
Squirrels, birds, and wasps love open soffit. We repair damage, screen vents, and close the entry point so they don't come back.
Tight corner mitres
Inside and outside corners cut and fit properly, not slapped together with oversized corner trims hiding bad cuts.
Colour matching
Dozens of pre-finished colours to match your siding, existing trim, or the look you're after.
Coordinated with eavestrough
Eavestrough fastens to the fascia, so usually it makes sense to do them together. We can quote one or both.
Integrated with roofing
If you're replacing the roof anyway, soffit and fascia done at the same time keeps all the transitions tight and the warranties aligned.
Sagging soffit or peeling fascia? Let's close it back up right.

When soffit & fascia need attention.
Peeling paint
Wood fascia that needs repainting every few years is a sign it's absorbing moisture, and a good candidate for aluminum wrap or full replacement.
Visible rot
Soft, punky spots, especially near downspout outlets or low points of the eavestrough. Rot only gets worse, never better.
Sagging soffit panels
Panels pulling away at the walls or drooping between supports. Usually means fasteners have rusted out or the panel has absorbed water.
Animal access
Squirrel, bird, or wasp entry points. We close them up with proper screening and repair whatever they chewed through.
Ice damming
Persistent ice dams often trace back to blocked or insufficient soffit intake. Fixing ventilation is a key part of the long-term fix.
During a re-roof
If the roof is coming off anyway, it's the right time to address soffit, fascia, drip edge and ventilation all at once.
FAQ
Soffit & fascia questions.
Fascia is the vertical board that caps the ends of your roof rafters. It is the board your eavestroughs are fastened to. Soffit is the underside, running horizontally between the fascia and the wall. Together they close in the eaves and provide intake ventilation for the attic.
We recommend aluminum for both soffit and fascia. It's rigid, won't sag or yellow, holds paint, and is formed on-site to the exact length. Vinyl is cheaper but can distort in extreme heat and isn't as durable around ladders and pressure-washing.
Yes. Proper attic ventilation requires intake at the soffits and exhaust at the ridge. We install vented soffit panels (or solid soffit with a continuous intake strip) in the right proportion for your roof. Blocked or insufficient intake is a leading cause of ice dams and premature shingle failure.
We carry or can order a wide range of pre-finished aluminum colours. For full replacement on a single elevation it's easy to match. For patches, an exact match is harder, and we'll be straight with you about the result to expect.
Common. If we find rotten wood fascia behind your old aluminum, or if squirrels/birds have chewed through a soffit panel, we replace the damaged section, screen the opening, and fix any sheathing rot before closing it back up.
