Eavestrough & Gutters
Seamless eavestrough
for Edmonton homes.
Seamless 5" and 6" aluminum eavestrough, custom-formed in one continuous piece. Water ends up away from your foundation, not pooling against it.
The Details That Matter
Eavestrough is the thing that protects your foundation.
Eavestroughs look like a simple detail, but they're the main line of defence between your roof and your foundation. Sized right, sloped right, and tied into properly placed downspouts, they quietly keep your basement dry and your fascia rot-free for decades. Done cheap, they leak at every joint and dump water right against the house, where freeze-thaw does the rest.
Royal Roofing Edmonton runs seamless eavestrough only. Our truck-mounted roll-former cuts aluminum eavestrough in one continuous piece right at your property, to the exact length of every run, so there are no middle joints to fail. We spec 5-inch or 6-inch based on your roof's actual drainage area, and fasten with heavy-duty hidden hangers every 24 inches instead of the spike-and-ferrule hardware that loosens after a few Edmonton winters.
We can also install quality mesh or micro-mesh gutter guards for homes surrounded by mature trees, tie downspouts into underground discharge to move water well away from the foundation, and replace any rotten fascia board we find before hanging the new eavestrough. One crew, one written quote, one finish that actually holds up.
What We Do
Full eavestrough service.
Seamless eavestrough
Aluminum eavestrough formed on-site in one continuous piece. No joints to leak, no sagging sections.
5" and 6" options
Sized for your roof's drainage area. 6" carries ~40% more water, worth it on larger or steeper roofs.
Proper downspouts
2x3" or 3x4" aluminum downspouts, correctly placed to serve the roof area draining into them.
Underground discharge
When practical, we tie downspouts into underground pipe routed away from the foundation. Keeps basements dry.
Gutter guards
Quality mesh and micro-mesh gutter protection for homes surrounded by trees. Cuts annual cleaning in half or more.
Fascia repair
Rotten fascia board is not unusual behind failing eavestroughs. We inspect and replace what's rotten before hanging new gutters.
Hidden hangers
Heavy-duty hidden hangers every 24", not spike-and-ferrule fasteners that loosen over time.
Colour-matched
Dozens of pre-finished colour options to match your siding and fascia, not just white-or-brown.
Eavestrough cleaning
One-time or seasonal cleaning for clogged or overflowing gutters. Full flush, downspout check, and photos of anything we find.
Overflowing gutters? Pooling at the foundation? Let's sort it.
Get a Gutter QuoteWhy It Matters
Gutters do more than you think.
Protects your foundation
Water dumped against the house concentrates freeze-thaw damage on your concrete foundation, which is the single most expensive structure on a home to repair.
Stops basement leaks
Most "basement leaks" are actually downspouts discharging right next to the wall. Get the water out 6 feet and the leaks stop.
Saves your soffit & fascia
Overflow runs down the fascia, rots the soffit, and invites wildlife into your attic. Proper gutters keep that system dry.
Protects siding
Sagging, leaking eavestrough stains and swells siding underneath. Replacing gutters is a fraction of the cost of replacing siding.
Ice dam mitigation
While not a complete fix, properly flashed and heated gutters reduce ice-dam buildup at the eaves.
Curb appeal
Straight, correctly-hung, colour-matched eavestrough is one of those details that reads "well-kept home" at a glance.
FAQ
Gutter questions.
We run seamless only. Sectional eavestroughs have a joint every 10 feet and every joint is a future leak. Our truck-mounted roll-former makes the eavestrough in one continuous piece right at your property, cut to exact length.
Seamless aluminum eavestrough runs roughly $8 to $14 per linear foot for 5-inch and $10 to $16 per linear foot for 6-inch, installed. Most single-family Edmonton homes have 150 to 200 linear feet, so a full replacement usually lands between $1,500 and $3,200 including downspouts. Gutter guards and underground downspout discharge add to that. You get a firm written price after an on-site measure.
For most Edmonton homes, 5" is fine. Larger roofs, steep pitches, or homes with heavy runoff from a metal roof benefit from 6", which carries about 40% more volume. We'll recommend the right size based on your roof's drainage area.
Standard 2x3" downspouts for most homes, 3x4" for larger roofs or long runs. We also install underground discharge to keep water away from your foundation when practical.
The right ones, yes. Cheap plastic inserts clog and sag. We install quality mesh and micro-mesh systems that keep leaves, needles, and seeds out while letting water through. Especially worthwhile on homes with mature trees nearby.
Most single-family homes take one full day: tear-off, fascia board inspection, any fascia repairs, seamless eavestrough run, downspouts, and cleanup.
